Medically Trained First Aid Instructor
Providing Medically-led Training for Local Communities
Our instructor - Dr Caitlyn McKay, MBChB, BSC Medical Science, RQF level 3
Dr Caitlyn is an NHS hospital doctor with over a decade of experience across a wide range of specialties, including Accident & Emergency, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Acute Medicine, General Surgery, Psychiatry, and Community Medicine.
Her career has taken her from busy urban hospitals to the remotest parts of rural Scotland, where the 'ambulance' was not uncommonly a boat or helicopter.
With a good sense of humour and an approachable manner, she uses videos and photos of real-life emergencies to demonstrate what to look for to distinguish unwell from dying.
"If you want to distinguish emergency (now!), from urgent (the next four hours), from 'needs attention today or tomorrow', then train with me."
